All UNSW students studying overseas must seek travel approval so their travel is registered with UNSW, as per the UNSW Travel Procedure and to ensure they are covered by the UNSW Travel Insurance Policy.
For further information on UNSW Student Travel Approval process go to: Risk Assessment: Prior to Leaving Australia | UNSW Current Students
UNSW is a member of Global 24 Advisory & Assistance (G 24) which provides around the clock international medical and travel security advice and support. Students travelling on approved travel can contact Global 24 on +61 2 9312 5153 or via [email protected]
Once you have received travel approval your travel details will be automatically passed onto Global 24.
- Download the Safeture app at Apple and Andriod and update your personal details. (To Log on: Use your student ID email z[studentnumber]@ad.unsw.edu.au)
- Confirm your travel information with Safeture App and upload your itinerary. It is your responsibility to ensure your information is updated within the system so you can be contacted for local updates and in case of an emergency.
Students who participate in outbound international programs must refer to the UNSW Travel Insurance Policy.
If covered by the university policy, it's important you check your insurance cover before you leave Australia. We strongly recommend you arrange additional travel coverage through a private insurance provider if this does not cover all your needs. It is essential you have adequate insurance cover while you are travelling. See Smartraveller's guide to buying travel insurance and make sure you are covered!
