🙋‍♀️ Who will mentor me? 🙋‍♂️

Our kind and compassionate mentors are Medical Science students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year. They’ve all experienced the daunting transition into university and have overcome their own challenges to experience a rewarding UNSW lifestyle. Coming from a diverse range of backgrounds, our mentors are equipped with comprehensive training to ensure they have the knowledge and empathetic skills to support you.🌟

Mentor applications

First and second year students studying a Bachelor of Medical Science are encouraged to apply!

The Medical Science Peer Mentoring Program runs throughout Term 1, starting from O-Week and lasting till the end of the term. As a mentor, you will be provided with compulsory training that prepares you to confidently guide and support new students. You will also be required to attend a briefing session that outlines the form expectations and administrative requirements to complete the program. As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to encourage the growth of first years, develop your skills, and create meaningful bonds with other mentors and mentees. Upon successful completion of the program, you will also receive AHEGS Accreditation on your co-curricular transcript.

Applicants will be assessed solely through their application form. No interviews will be held. Applicants should also have Good Academic Standing.

Unfortunately, mentor applications are now closed for our 2023 program. However, stay keen as applications for our 2024 mentors will be released in Term 3, 2023!
