The Aviation Society Peer Mentoring Program aims to provide support for first year students in transitioning to their first term of tertiary aviation studies.
The program is designed as a means to establish and improve a channel of communication amongst students undertaking a UNSW Aviation degree. Not only will the program develop connections amongst first year students, but to also foster cohesion between first year and senior students within the School of Aviation.
Mentees will be matched with a mentor who is studying the same stream and/or program within the school and has similar availability. This helps to optimise mentee engagement and allow mentors to provide personalised support, relevant to their mentees’ studies and transition.
The program will consist of small groups of 3-5 mentees per mentor. Small group sizes enable mentors to adapt sessions to the needs and concerns of their mentees.
