The Women in Engineering Society is a student-led society that advocates for diversity in engineering with a focus on inclusion for female-identifying students. The society offers students an opportunity to contribute to the functioning of the society as a team member. Students can be a member of either the Programs, Events, IT, Human Resources or Public Relations portfolios. Being in a portfolio allows students to develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills as well as portfolio-specific skills such as marketing and programming. Students can also occupy an executive level position where they are able to manage the functioning of the society through tasks such as overseeing its finances and communicating on its behalf with external parties.
