UNSW Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition where Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates have 180 seconds and one PowerPoint slide, to explain their research and demonstrate why it is important. The overall winner of the UNSW 3MT finals will go onto represent UNSW at the Asia Pacific competition at the University of Queensland, as well as the international Universitas 21 final.

Responsibilities

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition where Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates have 180 seconds and one PowerPoint slide, to explain their research and demonstrate why it is important. Participants share knowledge with their peers and to the broader UNSW community.

UNSW 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Finalist

Training

HDR candidates attend faculty training sessions and 3MT Master Class. The 3MT Master Class is a full day of practical training with UNSW academics.

Approximate start/finish dates and duration of commitment: Minimum 20 hours
