About the program

It is a four-week program that integrates a Spanish course with 10 seminars about doing business in Latin America and its cultural perspective. Interested students do not need to have an advanced level of Spanish, since the course is aimed for CEFR A1 students. The seminars will be delivered in English.

 

The topics of the seminars include:

Doing Business in Latin America

  1. Understanding the political and economic scene and its projection
  2. Latin American marketing and sales
  3. Leadership, negotiation and network enhancement in Latin American emerging markets
  4. Ecosystem, entrepreneurship and innovation in Latin America
  5. International trade: importation and exportation

Intercultural Mediation in Latin America

  1. Latin American cultural diversity
  2. Understanding the difference between multiculturalism, pluriculturalism and interculturalism
  3. Definition of Intercultural Mediation
  4. Conflict management techniques and tools to deal with conflict both within the groups and between groups and society
  5. Implication of intercultural mediation in business

Academic Credit

Approval for credit transfer is at the discretion of your Faculty. Credit approval can only be given prior to the commencement of a Learning Abroad program - no retrospective requests will be accepted.

Completion of an approved Short Course typically will lead to the awarding of 6 or 12 Free Elective Units of Credit, or where applicable, 6 or 12 General Education Units of Credit toward your UNSW program.

Students otherwise may be approved to take a Short Course on a Not-for-Credit basis.
