Mathematics UG Prize-Giving 2025

Over 500 prizes and medals are awarded each year to recognise your excellence

UNSW receives donations from individuals, organisations and Schools to make these prizes and medals possible.

What is the difference between a prize and medal?

A university medal is one of the most distinguished awards bestowed upon an undergraduate student with the most outstanding academic performance. As you will be assessed against the academic record related to the program in which the medal is being assessed, only in exceptional circumstances will there be more than one Medal for a particular major within a program.

Prizes are created by donors, faculties and schools to highlight various academic achievements of their own choosing. Both medals and prizes are awarded on the recommendation of the Head of School.
