Have you or someone that matters to you been impacted by the criminal justice system?

Published:

Researchers at UNSW are investigating the experiences of system-impacted students. Part of this project includes a survey to better understand their experiences, needs and to improve support.

We hope this study will assist us to understand the safety and support needs of system-impacted students. This will enable us to make recommendations to better embed the perspectives of students with lived experience of the criminal justice system into the teaching practices and curriculum across UNSW.

Participation in this research survey is optional. If you choose to participate, your contributions will be anonymous. Your decision to participate (or not) will have no impact on your assessments or course grades.

If you are interested, the research project is looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  1. You (or one of your family members or close friends) are system-impacted, meaning that you (or your family member or close friend) have been criminalised by police, incarcerated or have previously lived in out-of-home care
  2. You have studied or are currently studying any course or program at UNSW
  3. You are over 18 years old

The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. You can view the Participant Information Statement here for more information.
