Highlights of the role
Working with incredibly talented and diverse people, daily interactions with senior leaders of large Australian and multinational companies, project-based work with opportunity to solve different challenges every ~2 months.
Career highlights - contributing to upcoming piece of global research on climate change, creating a future strategy and immersive session for the Board of one of Australia's largest companies.
University achievements - leading UNSW branch 180 Degrees Consulting (strategy projects for charities), pitching a social enterprise idea at the Hult Prize regional finals in London.
Highlights of UNSW
- Renewable energy engineering cohort - spending 4-5 years with a great group of people who are committed to making a difference.
- Student exchange - supported by faculty to undertake a Masters exchange in Copenhagen for renewable energy and a business exchange in London
- Society involvement - time spent primarily in social impact initiatives including 4 years with 180 Degrees (strategy projects for charities), developing a hospitality work placement program for asylum seekers with corporate cafes as part of Enactus, directing the Hult Prize competition at UNSW and developing a biofuel social enterprise idea using peanut husks (supported by UNSW Engineering to pitch in London).
Advice for current students
Find an opportunity outside the classroom that excites you and throw yourself into it! Society involvement and travel were some of the best decisions I made while at UNSW.
