Telehealth appointments

The Health Service is now offering telehealth (video) and phone consultations as well as face to face appointments. If you would like to book a telephone or video consultation, please contact our reception team on 02 93855425 or you can make this appointment via our online appointment system. To be eligible for a telehealth or telephone appointment you need to have been seen in person in the clinic in the last 12 months. The only exception is if you currently have an acute COVID-19 infection.

For telephone consultations we will call your nominated mobile or landline number. Video consultation will be via HOTDOC's - we will email you a link before your appointment.

Please note: If you are new to the Health Service, register as a new patient with the online appointment booking form or fill out the new patient form here and email it to [email protected] before your appointment. If you have not attended UNSW Health Service in the last year you will need a face-to-face appointment. All first time appointments need to be face to face.

Face to face appointments

Priority appointments are allocated each day based on severity of illness. So please tell us if you are unwell, as we have appointments reserved for illness on the day. Bring your current UNSW student card and your Medicare card or Health Insurance card to your consultation.

Fees

Domestic student fees

For Domestic (local) students who holds a Medicare card there is no cost to see a GP. A small fee may be charged for some vaccinations and dressings if needed.

International student fees

We offer Bulk Billing to enrolled international students of UNSW. This means that if you are currently enrolled and are covered by a Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) that we can directly bill, there will be no cost to you or your immediate family for seeing a GP. We are able to directly bill to Medibank, AHM, Allianz and BUPA. If you are covered by a different OSHC insurer, you may need to pay upfront and claim the cost back later from your health insurer. Please show the staff on reception your UNSW Student Card, and your Medicare or OSHC card on arrival.  UNSW Health Service’s preferred provider is Medibank OSHC

Children

The health service is very welcoming of all patients and continues to be willing to see patients of any age. We have decided to alter our fee structure for children <16.

From the 1st of March 2024, there will be an out-of-pocket fee for children attending the health service who are older than 5 years, unless they are children of UNSW students. The children of UNSW students, both local and international will be bulk-billed through Medicare or OSHC insurance

Staff and Community and non UNSW Student Fees

We see staff and community members and non UNSW Students for a fee. There is a partial rebate from Medicare.
